Fitness Regimen For Senior Citizens | Health & Beauty Tips - Jollyga ...

Senior citizens need not follow a strict gym regimen. To be fit and vibrant, those who are sixty plus can follow some simple tips and tricks.

Keep your brain active
In order to live a vibrant and sharp old age, you need to keep your brain active. Retirement doesn?t mean, you can just lie down and rest. Get occupied with something, pick up gardening or play Sudoku.

The more you exercise with your brain, the more you reduce the chances of Alzheimer?s or any other mental ailments.

Improve your posture
As we age, our body posture tends to get spoilt. You were born with a straight back, but due to bad sitting arrangements or lack of exercise, you tend to have a bent back.

To avoid a hunched back, stand on your heels for some time, this will help you to maintain your height as well as reduce back pain.

Floss
Research has showed the link between oral hygiene and heart health.
Hence, maintain your oral health: brush your teeth twice daily, get rid of cavities and visit your dentist regularly to maintain a healthy heart.

Rescue it up with spices
Cook it up with spices, especially turmeric. Turmeric possesses anti-inflammatory properties, and it is also a healing agent right from ancient time.

Limit sun exposure
Getting soaked in early morning sunshine is fine, but exposure to sun rays after 8 is hazardous. As sunrays contains UV rays, and too much exposure to UV rays results in droopy skin, sun tan etc.

Eat well
What you eat, shows up on your health as you age. Indulge in protein rich diet. Consume foods which are rich in vitamins and nutrients like dark green leafy vegetables, red meat, whole grains and fruits.

Sleep well
While you sleep, forget your worries and tensions. As you age it gets essential to get a good night 8 hours sleep. Because, when you sleep your body releases growth hormones, which helps replace old cells.
