Swim classes offered at SPB
ST. PETE BEACH ? The St. Pete Beach Aquatic Center, 7701 Boca Ciega Drive, is accepting registration for swimming classes through the American Red Cross. The classes, for all ages, will teach proper technique and tips for safety in any water environment. Classes are held Monday through Thursday and run in two-week sessions of 30-minute classes. Classes are available morning and evening to fit every schedule. A two-week session is $40 for residents of St. Pete Beach and $45 for non-residents. Elks Lodge plans festivities
MADEIRA BEACH ? The Holiday Isles Elks Lodge, 14111 E. Parsley Drive, plans its inaugural Orange and Blue Tarpon Tournament Saturday, May 18 as part of a three-day open house. The tournament is planned by the Pinellas County Gator Club and is sanctioned by the Old Salts Fishing Foundation. The festivities start Friday, May 17 with a fish fry beginning at 5 p.m. Music will be provided both inside and outside next to the tiki bar. Plans continue Sunday, May 19 with a breakfast at 10:30 a.m., featuring breakfast sandwiches, bloody marys and other cocktails. Tri If You Dare Kids Triathlon set
SEMINOLE ? The Seminole Recreation Department will hold its ninth annual Tri If You Dare Kids Triathlon on Sunday, June 30, starting at 7:15 a.m., at the Holland G. Mangum Recreation Complex, 9100 113th St. N. Ages 5 and 6 run 1/4 mile, bike one mile and swim 25 yards. Ages 7 to 10 run 1/2 mile, bike 2 miles and swim 100 yards. Boating safety course set
CLEARWATER ? The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 11-1 Clearwater is offering an About Boating Safety course on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19, 8 a.m., at the Clearwater Police Department, 645 Pierce St. Cost for materials is $35. Topics include boating emergencies, know your boat, getting underway, navigating, operating your boat safely, and legal requirements. All graduates receive a Florida State Certification Card. Moccasin Lake Nature Park hosts activities
CLEARWATER ? Moccasin Lake Nature Park, 2750 Park Trail Lane, will host the following May events:

? Yoga ? Saturdays, May 18, and 25, 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. All ages can experience the beauty of nature. Yoga promotes health, wellness, peace of mind, strength, balance and flexibility. Cost is $15 with a play pass, $20 with a recreation card or $25 with no card per month.

? Kali/eskrima ? Saturdays, May 18, and 25, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This is an ancient martial art from the Philippines that emphasizes the use of weapons. Cost is $28.50 with a play pass per month, $38 with a recreation card, or $48.50 with no card.

Tae kwon do classes available
TARPON SPRINGS ? The Tarpon Springs Recreation Department is offering a tae kwon do class three times a week at the Craig Park Recreation Center. The class meets Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., and Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $80 for all three classes per week, $50 for two classes and $30 for Saturday only. Adult boot camp program offered
TARPON SPRINGS ? The Tarpon Springs Recreation Department is offering a boot camp program for adults looking for an exercise class with calisthenics, weight training and running. Classes meet Monday through Friday, 6 to 7 a.m., at the Tarpon Springs gymnasium, 400 S. Walton Ave. The cost is $30 per month for city residents and $33.21 a month for nonresidents. Chamber starts golf league

Badminton offered by rec department
OLDSMAR ? The city of Oldsmar Recreation Department is offering recreation badminton Thursday, May 23, 7 p.m., at the Cypress Forest Recreation Center, 650 Pine Ave. There are no predetermined teams. Just show up and play. Those attending must wear proper footwear and abide by the posted gym rules. Belly dancing classes offered
